Grove Networks, founded in 2000, specializes in providing outsourced IT services for small and mid-sized companies. Our clients represent various industries, including but not limited to professional services, finance, hospitality, manufacturing, healthcare and services companies that have sophisticated IT needs.


We provide our customers with service in four distinct areas that comprise an IT department: Virtual CIO, Network Technology, Centralized Services, and Help Desk. Job Duties & Responsibilities


The Director of Operations is responsible for integrating finance, operations and sales/marketing in order to achieve company-wide goals. Subsequently, Operations, Finance & Sales departments will report directly to the General Manager. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the company including but not limited to technology, profitability, service delivery, accountability, HR and client relationships. Ultimately, the General Manager is the tie-breaker regarding all decisions with the company.


Strategic Planning


  • Provide in depth analysis and insight into capital, technology, process and personnel investments needed to achieve business objectives
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology managed services industry, competitors, suppliers and clients then leverage this understanding to achieve business objectives
  • Develop and implement new products and services that enable the business to grow


Business Development


  • Develop effective sales plans
  • Formulate a written sales activity plan with monthly and yearly quotas
  • Work Closely with the marketing and sales organizations to win new business that will enable the business to grow by increasing market-share and profitability
  • Develop and continuously improve the sales and marketing program, including but not limited to Direct Mail, Telemarketing, Webinar’s, and Web Site & Social Media channels
  • Author and present proposals to new clients for technology and technology services (present and demonstrate products as necessary)
  • Review service deployment progress and identify opportunities for further sales and new areas for development
  • Create networking relationships in order to maintain awareness of potential clients’ activity in our market, i.e. new business, expansion of existing business, as well as competitor activities


Client Service


  • Establish an environment of exceptional client service that retains existing clients and attracts new clients
  • Understand clients’ varying, often quite specific, business needs and applying knowledge of the company’s products to meet those needs
  • Ensure quality of service by gaining a thorough and detailed knowledge of technical specifications and other features of client’s systems
  • Follow up on completed sales with personal visits to assess the client’s satisfaction, to maintain contact, and to remain the preferred partner


Operational Excellence


  • Develops business plans and reports on the status of the business operations that enable management to assess performance and progress
  • Implement the necessary technology, personnel, process and operational oversight in order to accomplish business goals and objectives
  • Ensure the provision of a reliable, scalable and secure technology and operations environment that enables clients to effectively utilize the deployed services to run their businesses
  • Identify key operations metrics and use this information to enable continuous improvement in Managed Services


Team Management


  • Develops and maintains communication in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of management, employees and clients
  • Ability to attract, hire, develop and motivate staff as needed to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Foster a positive and collaborative environment between the Managed Services and Application development teams
  • Hiring, training and managing the telemarketer to set additional sales meetings
  • Meet regularly with the co-workers and management to ensure that proper information flows in both directions and to share experiences and other pertinent information


Credentials and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a business related field or relevant experience OR eight to fifteen years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Client advocate trusted by engineers/techs, able to manage difficult situations with clients
  • Strong closer of new business, able to give presentations and give seminars
  • Responsible for executing the company’s vision
