At Grove Networks, customer satisfaction is our strongest
measure of success. Read how we were able to address the technology concerns of
some of our key clients:
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Networks Latin America LLC
Industry: Entertainment
Concern: Cost burden of full-time IT staff
Solution: Contract Maintenance & On-call IT Outsourcing
A division of one of the world's best-known multi-media giants, MGM
Networks Latin America knows what it takes to succeed. When they decided to
reduce the costs associated with a full-time IT staff and revamp a network that
had become cumbersome and costly to maintain, they needed an IT partner capable
of handling a complex and heterogeneous network that included Linux, Windows 9x,
NT, 2000, AS400, Novell, Apple, AVID and Cisco, as well as a variety of
application servers.
"When our full-time IT director left, we were looking for qualified
companies to help support our users and network while finding a replacement.
When Grove Networks began maintaining our systems, they immediately cut costs.
They were able to cut total hours by 75% and labor costs by about 40%.
Also, our licensing costs for systems are reduced through the use of Linux
where applicable and system crashes are almost non-existent."
Sandra Austin, Director of Finance, MGM Networks Latin America LLC
Grove Networks provided significant cost savings by streamlining PC and server
system maintenance, effecting a 75% reduction in man-hours. Furthermore,
outsourcing IT functions to Grove Networks has allowed MGM Latin America to
reduce total IT salary costs by approximately 40% and improve server uptimes,
all without sacrificing the "always-available" security of having an
in-house IT staff.
Grove Networks' real-time remote system monitoring with fast, efficient
call response gives MGM Latin America the peace of mind knowing that their
network is no longer a liability to the bottom line.

Tecton Hospitality
Industry: Hospitality & Hotel Management
Concern: Support for Remote Users, Multiple Locations/ Companies
Solution: IT Outsourcing & Corporate Extranet Design
Tecton Hospitality manages approximately 15 hotels throughout the Continental
US and Puerto Rico with over 800 employees located in various states and
provinces. Tecton had a dubious track record with previous IT outsourcing.
IT costs were sky-rocketing while key concerns, such as support of remote
users and facility of information management between the various operating
units, were not being addressed. Grove Networks provided knowledgeable and
sensible solutions that matched requirements for their current and future growth
needs.
"Grove Networks provides us with honest advice at a
reasonable cost. Since using Grove Networks, we have managed to reduce our IT
costs by over 75% compared to our last consulting company, with a fraction of
the downtime.
"Their wide knowledge of IT ranging from web development and
network security to productivity applications like Office makes them a
superior solution provider. Their honest consulting is always for our benefit,
not theirs. If there is a better and cheaper way, they will find it and carry
it out properly."
Lee Lyndes, Chief Financial Officer, Tecton Hospitality
A standardized reporting mechanism for remote-user troubleshooting gave
Tecton better responses time and significantly reduced downtime for remote
users.
As part of the ongoing network support and maintenance process, Grove
Networks worked with Tecton to develop a working corporate extranet, which
allows them to increase operational efficiencies by sharing important Human
Resources and Corporate information, as well as general corporate news and
events, among all of their wide-spread operating units through a web-based
interface.

Morgan de Toi Southeast
Industry: Retail - Clothing
Concern: Secure Ponit-of-Sales System, Integrated Real-time
Multi-location Accounting & Inventory Management
Solution: Clustered Linux Point-of Sale System and Cisco WAN
From its beginnings as a small French company focused on the
fashion-conscious woman, Morgan de Toi has evolved into a multinational
enterprise with over 400 boutiques worldwide. Innovation, strategic partnerships
and a commitment to excellence are the keys to their global success.
When Morgan de Toi Southeast (MDTSE) decided to stake their claim on the
Southeast United States, especially the explosive South Florida market, they
contracted Grove Networks to oversee their technology needs. Their main concerns
at startup: that their point-of-sales systems be secure, flexible, stable and
cost effective and that they have real-time accounting and inventory management
throughout five stores, a warehouse and central office.
"When we set up our stores, we decided to use Linux
for a Point-of Sales system. Data redundancy and high-availability was a major
factor since we had six locations running off one set of servers.
Grove Networks was able to design a first-ever Counterpoint
POS system that gave us the peace of mind of knowing that our stores would
stay up in and running in the event of a disaster. With all the design and
research involved, Grove Networks’ Linux expertise allowed us to avoid
costly capital outlay, providing us with a quality system at $40,000 less than
a comparable system on Windows."
